Wang Yitai, although not well-known outside of China, is associated with a rap group in Chengdu called CD Rev. This group is famous for its controversial songs that touch on political issues. In China, the government controls what artists can say and do. Many Taiwanese artists are prohibited from performing in China if they support Taiwan's independence. On the other hand, Taiwan is more open to welcoming Chinese artists, but it expects mutual respect in return.
